Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions.

Currently, you are editing without a username. You can continue to do so, as you are not required to log in to Wikipedia to read and edit articles; however, logging in will result in a username being shown instead of your IP address (yours is 193.255.230.227). Logging in does not require any personal details, and there are many other benefits for logging in.

When you edit pages:

  • Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
  • Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
  • If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
  • Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such content or editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism.

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. For now, if you are stuck, you can click the edit this page tab above, type {{helpme}} in the edit box, and then click Save Page; an experienced Wikipedian will be around shortly to answer any questions you may have. Also feel free to ask a question on my Talk page. I will answer your questions as far as I can! Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia.- MPF 10:06, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Nordmann Fir

"The Western Caucasus Reserve is in Europe but Turkey and Georgia are in Asia the latter also being in the Middle East, and the Nordmann Fir extends into both regions"

The range including parts of Asia is already mentioned in the first paragraph. The second paragraph referring to the 78 m trees is specifically about a single site in the European portion of the range, so mention of Asia there is not relevant - MPF 10:06, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Please refrain from adding nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to User:MPF. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Raven4x4x 08:58, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

How to move pages

If you do not wish to register, you should go to Wikipedia:Requested moves to request a page rename/move. Else you can register and use the 'move' tab/button on the top of a page to rename an article. If the site reports you cannot rename/move an article even after registered, then you will absolutely have to go Wikipedia:Requested moves to get a page moved. Sorry about this, but wikipedia's copyright is the GFDL, which requires we keep a record of all edits for an article. Kevin_b_er 08:14, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

Darius Danesh

Please refrain from continually changing Persian to Iranian in this article. This person describes himself as Scottish/Persian and not Iranian as has already been stated previously. --Scarlet7 14:40, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

East Timor and Oceania

East Timor is not part of Oceania. That is why I pasted it to an Asia article. East Timorese themselves feel very insulted if one referres to their country as a "South Pacific" country or as a part of Oceania. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 193.255.230.227 (talkcontribs).

Please discuss this at Talk:Oceania. Please provide a cite that "East Timorese ... feel insulted if one refers to their country as ... part of Oceania." It certainly isn't part of the South Pacific, but no one argues that it is.
Don't just remove material from articles without explanation. When you initially removed the material from 2006 in Oceania, I thought you had done so because it was out of date. East Timor is certainly part of Oceania in a zoogeographical sense - see Wallace Line. Politically, it has had more involvement with Australia and New Zealand than most countries in its area, relative to its size and population. Portal:Oceania covers it; as far as I'm aware no other portal does so.-gadfium 20:01, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
Again, I ask you not to remove material without gaining a consenus. Talk:Oceania is the place to discuss it.-gadfium 20:23, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Nur Mountains

Then please say so at Talk:Amonos Mountains so that the page can be moved properly! Just cutting the text out of one page and pasting it into the other is the wrong way to go about it. - MPF 09:08, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Possible vandalism

Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Thank you. MER-C 08:30, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism, and if you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. — Gareth Hughes 10:52, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalise a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. — FireFox (talk) 11:30, 01 August '06

So is Nicosia

You can put that cat NEXT to the other one. Keep removing and I will revert you.--Eupator 11:44, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Today's Cyprus revert

I can only state that I did not feel it represented a Neutral point of view. I am sure the clarification could be made in a different way? - Nigel (Talk) 13:07, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Mike

I have no opinion either way, but your edits were POV and had to be reverted. Please stop editing my talk page as your edits are considered vandalism. Konman72 10:06, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
