Talk:1930s nostalgia films

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It's not a film, but I bet the "No More Words" video by Berlin (band) has been moderately influential... AnonMoos 13:12, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Possible Film

I'm going to insert the film A Christmas Story into the article, it takes place in 1939, so that would be appropriate right? Plus it was removed from 1950s Nostalgia Films. Tell me your thoughts and opinions on this. Ace Fighter 23:09, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Wrong year its 1940 the decoder ring is the last non paper one but I agree its a nostalgia film--Ffocuser 01:51, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thought's on removing most entries

Most of the films on the list are not nostalgia films, films made in a particular period telling a story common to any period. Most are specific historical films, Dillinger, Bonnie and Clyde, The Great Gatsby (a 1920's film by the way, the book was published in 1925), Emporer of the North Pole , et cetera et cetera. are all historical or not of the period. Historical films would be listed by period under Period films. For example you would list 1776 under either 18th century films or American Revolutionary War films. For ease of listing the prior might be better but considering the number of films about the revolutionary war sub categories about each war or movement period for a particular century would also work. I don't think any of this is necessary in a online encyclopedic form I think it should reference out to a seperate world film encyclopedia area, but that is my opinion. --Ffocuser 01:51, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
