The 1909 Giro d'Italia of cycling was the first Giro d'Italia and was held from May 13 to May 30, 1909, consisting of 8 stages. It was won by Luigi Ganna.
There were 115 participants, all Italians with the exception of four French cyclists. Only 49 arrived at the final goal.
