1895-96 South African cricket season
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The 1895-96 South African cricket season was the seventh season of first-class cricket in South Africa. The Currie Cup wasn't contested in the 1895-96 season, with the only first-class cricket being seen in games played by Lord Hawke's touring side from England. The tour saw three Test matches, all of which were won easily by England. The only other first-class match saw Western Province draw against Lord Hawke's XI. A proposed match between the tourists and Transvaal was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
