1856 is a railroad operations and share trading board game in the 18XX series, published by Mayfair Games. The game is set in Upper Canada, including the upper reaches of the St. Lawrence River, and the Toronto to Detroit area for southern Ontario.

This game features national railroad buyout as well as major obstacles for railroad growth. Special play features include the ability of every player to open and operate a rail company, with the government providing loans to help and the ability to cut small towns from your route.
