Regarding your edits to Goleta, California. The newspaper said that the sixth person survived. Did she pass away? How did you find out? If the claim remains unsubstantiated, I'll have to change it back...--Rockero420 19:47, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Trevor Elkins

The reason that the article was deleted was because Discospinster added a speedy delete tag to the article since it was a non-notable biography, and I agreed. The article had also been deleted previously for the same reason, and thus fell more under the category of resubmitted information that was previously deleted under the speedy delete guidelines. The article did not give any indication that Trevor Elkins, which I'm assuming by your screename that this is you, has yet done anything significant enough to merit an encyclopedic article. You could, if you want, add the information that you placed in the article on your user page User:Telk02, but as an article it is just going to get deleted again. If you want, I can retrieve the information for you so you can add it to your userpage without having to rewirte it. This is why I deleted that article. If you have an questions for me, please direct them to my talk page and not my userpage since I will not receive them then, and that is considered vandalism. Also, please try not to automatically insult a user simply because you diasgree with them. Thank You. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 01:52, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

No where on the deleted information does it mention you're a geography champion. Basically, the article reads like the biography of any person out there. It says you were a good soccer player, that you had a high G.P.A. in high school, and that you attend college, but that pretty much sums up a couple of million people, and not all of them can have their own article. Though you can technically write all that about yourself on your userpage. I'm not sure if being state geography champion merits its own article, though you can probably be placed in an article about the California State Geography Bee. Even winners of the National Spelling Bee do not have their own articles. Unfortunately, it's also policy in Wikipedia that you shouldn't make article about yourself, or edit your own articles so as to avoid bias and non-neutral points of view. So it's better if you left that to another contributor, unless you want to go ahead and create the Georgraphy Bee Article and add a mention to yourself on there. As for Paris Hilton, she's an heiress and socialite, plus she's in the media's eye all the time. I guess the idea is that if she's notable enough to be in the media, then she's notable. If you want, bring that up on the Paris Hilton article's talkpage and see what users who write and watch that article will say to that remark. I have retrieved your information, but I first need you to confirm to me if you are User:Telk02, if so, then I'll add the information to your userpage. One last thing, I do not want you to take this the wrong way, but you should try not to burst out angrily and insult people the way you have to me, it's counter-productive and you'd get a better response from everyone if you just asked them nicely. None of the people who placed delete tags, nor the other user who deleted the article before me have any personal vendetta against you, so it's not like I deleted your article because I'm out to discredit your name or make you feel inferior, I'm simply following the policy and guidelines laid out by Wikipedia. Thanks. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 02:53, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
