Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopaedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to Ferrari 360 GTC, are considered vandalism. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the hard work of others. Thanks. RoyBoy 800 19:51, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

Votes of confidence
I saw your comments (from someone using this IP) on Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Middle_Korea and I thought that I'd give you a few votes of confidence.
A proportion of Wikipedia users hate new users and are very suspicious of them. This is not a newbie friendly site. The main reason for this is because new users are often used by people who are in reality old users but are just trying to avoid detection. Henceforth a lot of people assume that because you are a new user and they don't know who you are, therefore you are doing the wrong thing. Whilst this directly opposes the official Wikipedia policy of Assume Good Faith WP:AGF, it is practised by a lot of people.
One thing to remember though is that not everyone feels that way. Your voice is not uncommon. There are a lot of people about who do actually assume good faith. It is just that when you are new, you don't see that a lot. Its only after you've been here for a while that you start to see them a bit more. To begin with it is very difficult for newcomers, but if you stick around for a while, then you will see that people aren't quite as bad as you might think.
Now, when you create a new article from scratch, a lot of people get suspicious, particularly if you are creating it from an anonymous IP address (i.e. you have not registered an account). The question is - is this article really needed? If you had your own account, they might not be so suspicious.
So my tips for you are as follows:
- To begin with, just make minor edits on existing articles, which contribute to the tone of the article. Do things like fix spelling mistakes and such.
- Whenever you edit an article, either click on links from the article so as to research it, or else open up google to find for yourself new articles with which to use for your source (and add these sources to the article as links).
- Do not delete or blank someone else's contributions, no matter how wrong they are. If they are really wrong, write about how wrong they are in the talk page to talk about it.
- Try to work in coordination with everyone else. Try to use Assume Good Faith policy and presume that you are all working together. It can be contagious.
- No matter how much you are falsely accused (and you will be falsely accused a lot on here), don't retaliate by "making them earn it". Instead, you can either 1) not respond (a wise choice), 2) respond by asking them to stop the false accusations (which can backfire, especially if they are admins), 3) respond by talking about it on a discussion page somewhere. For example, if someone falsely accuses you of being a vandal, and points you to a link to what vandalism is, go and write in the discussion page on vandalism about how you were falsely accused. This will work much better than yelling at them about how they were wrong to falsely accuse you of things.
- Don't ever take on admins. Admins are for all intents and purposes unstoppable. Try to get admins on your side, as the only control over admins is other admins.
- Try to be nice to people as much as you can, as it is contagious.
It is difficult to start here, and I am sorry that you had a hard time beginning. I hope that you can see some way to make this work, and if not, I hope that it didn't upset you too much. Zordrac (talk) Wishy Washy Darwikinian Eventualist 17:36, 3 December 2005 (UTC)

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Okay, maybe this is a school proxy, but the amount of vandalism from this IUP is getting ridiculous. -- grm_wnr Esc 22:23, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
