[edit] November 2005

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. – Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 19:57, 29 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for experimenting with the page Douglas Adams on Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. TigerShark 01:44, 13 February 2006 (UTC)

Please stop adding nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. --Pilotguy (talk ¦ ) 01:49, 13 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your edits on Mad About You

Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with the page Mad About You on Wikipedia! Your test worked, and thank you for reverting or removing it yourself. The best way to do tests in the future would be to use the sandbox. You can look at these pages as well: how to edit a page, the tutorial, and how to write a great article. All of these pages are good places to start. Again, welcome, and I hope that you will like Wikipedia. Xiner (talk, email) 02:27, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Commentary in article Mac OS

Use the discussion tab to find an article's talk page.
Use the discussion tab to find an article's talk page.

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia! I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, Mac OS. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article.

Also, be sure to sign your posts on talk pages with four tildes (~~~~) – this will automatically produce a signature so other contributors can identify multiple posts from you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page! And again, thanks for your help! Xiner (talk, email) 02:29, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
