1. FC Bocholt is a German football club based in Bocholt, Nordrhein-Westfalen, close enough to the Dutch border to attract a few Dutch fans, and was founded in 1900 as FC Bocholt. In 1938, they merged with another local side, BSV Bocholt 1909, to become BSV Bocholt 1900, and after World War II re-formed under their current name.

This is a largely un-storied side toiling in III or IV tier leagues with just two short visits to 2.Bundesliga in 1977-78 and 1980-81. The club also made an appearance in the quarter-finals of the German Cup in 1984, going out 1:2 to Bayern Munich. They advanced as far as the semi-finals in the 1994 2.German Cup where they bowed to Rot-Weiss Essen 2:3.
