12 Rounds
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
12 Rounds is a band featuring Atticus Ross and Claudia Sarne. 12 Round's music is a cross between trip-hop and alternative rock.
Under the name 12 Rounds With Jesus, a demo of their song Holed appeared on a promotional cassette, titled Past Forward, for the NME magazine. The band, under the shorter name 12 Rounds, would go on to record their debut LP, Jitter Juice (1996), for Polydor. A label from which they were ultimately dropped, during which time original member Kirk Hellie would also leave and eventually go on to start his own project Spectacularly Ugly Music. They went on to spend the summer of 1997 recording an album's worth of material in their basement studio. Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails would hear the material and sign them to his label, Nothing Records, on which they released their LP, My Big Hero (1998). Claudia Sarne contributed vocals and lyrics to the masterful "Reminder" album by former Howlin Maggie and Nine Inch Nails Drummer Jerome Dillon.
