[edit] Links
Stop adding Mayo Clinic links. People have been blocked from editing Wikipedia for spamming links. JFW | T@lk 6 July 2005 20:33 (UTC)
[edit] Mayo clinic
129.176.151.6 and 129.176.151.7, you are wasting your time. Adding links is a known way to get banned from Wikipedia. Your colleagues at Mayo will therefore not be able to enter Wikipedia, as you share IP addresses. Just stop it. You may write for Wikipedia by adding informational content, not links. JFW | T@lk 7 July 2005 22:27 (UTC)
- Consider this another warning. If I continue to see linkspam from this IP, it will be blocked again, this time for 24 hours. --DropDeadGorgias (talk) 19:21, July 11, 2005 (UTC)
- As promised, this ip has been blocked for 24 hours. --DropDeadGorgias (talk) 22:29, July 11, 2005 (UTC)
And again, for 12 hours. You can't win. Just go away. JFW | T@lk 15:49, 14 July 2005 (UTC)
This spammer is incredibly persistent. A complete block would fit - there are no other contributions than spam. He may be paid for it. Pavel Vozenilek 19:50, 29 July 2005 (UTC)
- No, it is a shared IP. We should ask the devs to put the URL in the spam-URL blocklist. That way, no page with the mayoclinic URL can be saved. JFW | T@lk 10:09, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] External links
Please do not add commercial links or links to your own private websites to Wikipedia, as you did in Brachial plexus. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. -- Argon233 T C @ ∉ 16:30, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page Web directory do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. RJASE1 Talk 02:52, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
