[edit] Yeti

Do you know the name of the newspaper/article for that claim? I'd like to put a citation there. Let me know on my talk page, thanks. ---J.S (t|c) 23:44, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Anna Nicole Smith

I have tried to re implement your comments on the Marshall case within the Anna Nicole Smith article. Initially, I tried to compramise with the anon user who seems so intent on casting dispersions. After the personal attacks started, I stopped trying to compramise on the wording and simply left it at your version. Hopefully, you will have better luck resolving this than I have.

[edit] Sławomir Rawicz

I reverted your change of category of Sławomir Rawicz back to category:escapees. Although there is much controversy over this case, Sławomir Rawicz is a real person, not fictional unlike the other members of category:fictional escapees, the fictional in this category name refers to the character not the escape. Happy to discuss if you disagree. GameKeeper 23:22, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

I have also reverted the edit to seven years in tibet. The book was never presented as a fiction book and although it is most likely untrue this does not make it a fiction book. GameKeeper 23:29, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my Talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. Again, welcome!

Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian.--Riurik (discuss) 19:56, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hardcore wrestling

"Garbage wrestling" is a derogatory term. A derogatory term, as defined by Webster's, is "expressive of a low opinion". Whenever someone refers to hardcore wrestling as "garbage wrestling", they are not speaking positively about it but instead denouncing it. Also, no hardcore wrestler has ever said "I want to be the greatest garbage wrestler in the world".PepsiPlunge 09:30, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

You are wrong. Websters is not a source for a term that originated in Japan. I've heard people use the term garbage wrestling for years without it being derogatory. And how many hardcore wrestlers in the world have you ever personally spoken to or have the knowledge about what they have said to themselves. The term garbage wrestling has a long history and usage in the world. Only a few set of Americans and american hardcore wrestlers don't like the term.

Thanks for experimenting with the page Hardcore wrestling on Wikipedia. Your recent edit appears to have added obviously incorrect information and has been reverted or removed. All information in our encyclopedia must be verifiable. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. One Night In Hackney 17:50, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Please see WP:V. All unsourced additions can and will be removed, if you fail to cite sources. Thanks. One Night In Hackney 18:29, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

And I will remind you that proper behavior is to ask for sources before removing content. And to engage in proper dicussion rather than removing edits without notice. I will also remind you that these changes are in fact restorations of what was previously in the article rather than additions. 12.96.162.45 18:37, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. However, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Hardcore wrestling, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

Please see WP:V, it states The burden of evidence lies with the editor who adds or restores material. Please find the sources, then add the material. A "good" article is not one which has no sources and is not verified. One Night In Hackney 18:45, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

And you should go see WP:Wikilawyering. If you wish to discuss the topic, do so on the talk for the article in question. Your continous citation of obvious policy is serving no constructive purpose. I would ask that you also cease throwing abuse at me and deal with the issues at hand. 12.96.162.45 19:27, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
