10th Ohio Infantry

The 10th Ohio Infantry was a mostly Irish regiment recruited under the Command of William Haines Lytle at Cincinnati, Ohio, the unit was mustered into service for 3 years in 1861. The unit was organized at Camp Harrison near Cincinnati, Ohio then moved to Camp Dennison.

The Regiment served in West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee, taking part in the Battle of Perryville and then the Battle of Chickamauga in which Lytle lost his life.

The Regiment lost during its service 3 Officers and 86 Enlisted men, who were killed and mortally wounded. Two Officers and 77 Enlisted men were lost by disease.
