1-Hexanol is an alcohol with a six carbon chain and the molecular formula of CH3(CH2)5OH. It is a colorless liquid that is slightly soluble in water, but miscible with ether and ethanol. Two additional isomers of hexanol exist, 2-hexanol and 3-hexanol, which differ by the location of the alcohol functional group. Many isomeric alcohols have the formula C6H13OH.

In one preparation, 1-pentene is hydroformylated and the resulting hexanal is subsequently hydrogenated.

1-Hexanol is a component of the odour of freshly mowed grass.
