06/05 is a Dutch 2003 film directed by Theo van Gogh, based on the novel De Zesde Mei by Tomas Ross. The film is a fictional version of the events that led to the assassination of the Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn on May 6, 2002. The line between reality and fiction are blurred in 06/05, the compelling final film from the late Theo van Gogh (murdered in 2004 by a ... all » Dutch Islamic militant). Based on the book by Thomas Ross, the film is van Gogh’s version of events leading to the assassination of popular Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn in 2002. The film begins with Fortuyn’s assassination, and a curious news photographer (Thijs Römer) coincidentally at the scene who risks everything in hopes of unravelling the conspiracy. As he searches for the truth, his investigation leads him to Aisa (Tara Elders), a Turkish immigrant and former political prisoner somehow linked to the plot. Who had the most to gain from Fortuyn’s death? Is it activists, a faction of the Dutch intelligence service or something bigger? «
