This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | unblock | contribs) asked to be unblocked, but an administrator or other user has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators or users can also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). This unblock request continues to be visible. Do not replace this message with another unblock request nor add another unblock request.

Request reason: "No, I'm afraid you misunderstand—the ¥1 contributor wasn't myself, I just saw it and thought it was somewhat funny, knowing firsthand the same annoyance. As I said, it's no surprise you provoke anger in people who might otherwise contribute. —There's really no way I can salvage this name? Not that it's a huge deal, but it's the mountain where my father spent his last days gardening, and I'm kind of attached to it now that I've come up with it. —Well, I guess you can always let some other sucker write about East Asian architecture. Your loss for being so petty.

Wait a minute, I see what you're saying, but I disagree. The image shouldn't be problematic; I was going to put it on my userpage as a sardonic statement (as explained below). Given the stuff I see on any given userpage, I'm not sure why this is an issue."

Decline reason: "Per below. --WinHunter (talk) 17:18, 18 January 2007 (UTC)"

Request reason: "Um. Are you kidding me? Yes, I'm Japanese, and yes, I created this account because I recall being blocked for the exact same reason that the anonymous donor complained about (non-Latin usernames are blocked without warning; as a result, now my IP is blocked from editing for God knows how long without recourse, and all I did was try to sign in with a Japanese username). I hadn't even posted anywhere, and if I had, I'd have used the English transliteration to sign my post (Chayama). This block is utterly absurd and I can't help but sympathize with the anonymous contributor."

Decline reason: "You uploaded a screenshot of you making a USD 0.01 donation to Wikimedia, complaining about alleged blocks of non-Latin usernames and stating that "Choke on PayPal fees and die". Although your username is indeed allowed, you remain blocked for this WP:POINT violation. -- Sandstein 06:36, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Addendum: The PayPal donation was indeed by "Anonymous", but under these circumstances it appears more likely than not that you are they. If not, just create another user account and don't do anything disruptive. Sandstein 06:40, 18 January 2007 (UTC)"

This block was more about disrupting Wikipedia to make a point. Whether or not you are Japanese is not important. The fact that you uploaded the screenshot of a complaint due to the policy and violated said policy is the reason behind this block.—Ryūlóng () 05:31, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

What policy did I violate? I uploaded that comment (by an anonymous benefactor) to insert on my userpage as a sardonic statement on Wikipedia's hostility to non-English speakers; I can't see that this strays too far from common practice w.r.t. personal items on Wikipedia userpages. And as far as I know, usernames in non-Western script are OK as long as you sign using a transliteration, which I fully intend to do—except I never even got a chance before someone smacked me with a block. You (or whichever other administrator) seem to have assumed bad faith on my part, which seems to me rather... impolite. 茶山 05:37, 18 January 2007 (UTC) (Chayama)

Oh, what's the use? You don't want my contributions—your loss.
And frankly, by your actions, I can understand why you Wikipedia administrators inspire disgust in people like aforementioned contributor. 茶山 05:46, 18 January 2007 (UTC) (Chayama)
Hello. Ryulong is not an administrator, but I am. Please stand by while I request a comment by the blocking admin. Sandstein 06:05, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
A comment by the blocking admin turned out not to be necessary, see above. Sandstein 06:36, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
