Nitta Yoshisada (新田義貞)(1301-1338) was the head of the Nitta family in the early 14th century, and supported the Southern Court of Emperor Go-Daigo in the Nanboku-cho period, capturing Kamakura from the Hōjō clan in 1333. This picture was drawn by Kikuchi Yosai（菊池容斎） who was a painter in Japan.

According to articles 51 and 57 of the copyright laws of Japan, under the jurisdiction of the Government of Japan all non-photographic works enter the public domain 50 years after the death of the creator (there being multiple creators, the creator who dies last). This applies world-wide.
