[edit] Why I chose this username

I started out here on wikipedia with the username User:Александр любит мальчики, which means "Aleksandr likes boys" in Russian. My only intent was to state, perhaps in a mildly lighthearted fashion, my sexual preference, which is a central component of my identity. Unfortunately, this username was blocked with no real explanation by User:Alex Bakharev (see [1] ). I will assume good faith and assume this was not an act of homophobia; I would hate to think that there are bigoted administrators in our midst. Hopefully this new username, which means simply "Aleksandr is homosexual" will be acceptable, as it is nothing but a plain statement of the sexual preference that forms the core of my identity.

My name is Aleksandr Demidov. I am new to wikipedia. I was born in Russia but moved to Fargo, North Dakota at the age of 15. I am currently a student at North Dakota State University.

I aim to contribute to wikipedia by editing articles that relate to topics with which I am familiar. For example, I may edit articles related to Russia, espionage, the midwest, and espionage.
