Žanamari Lalić

Žanamari Lalić (b. September 8, 1981 in Makarska) is Croatian pop singer best known as the winner of Hrvatski idol, Croatian equivalent of Pop Idol.

Žanamari Lalić grew up in Tučepi. As a child she discovered talent for singing, and in her teen years she did modelling, winning one of the titles at 2001 Miss Dalmatia beauty pageant. After getting hotel management degree in Dubrovnik, she traveled to Germany to pursue music career. At first, she tried to become a porn star, but after only couple of months of "hard work" she quit. After her unsuccessful try to become Croatian Jenna Jameson she decided to get back to her true love, music. She released her first single and took part in Deutschland Sucht Den Superstar reality show, where she managed to get into Top 50.

She returned to Croatia where she took part in Hrvatski idol competition and won. Her victory coincided with the release of celebrity sex tape of Severina Vučković, which had the effect of suppressing any Hrvatski idol publicity in Croatian media; a show which's popularity had already faded due to oversaturation. Because of that Žanamari Lalić earned the nickname of Zanemari Lalić (Ignore Lalić).

She participated three times in the DORA, the Croatian Preselection for Eurovision. In 2005, with "Kako Da Te Volim" she finished 9th. In 2006 (Ljubav Za Jednu Noc) & 2007 (Jedino Moje) she didn't get to the final.
