Šahy (Hungarian: Ipolyság, German: Eipelschlag) is a town in southern Slovakia, on the river Ipeľ. The town has an ethnic Hungarian majority and it's population is 7,971 people (2005), with an average age of 42.5. The area covered by the town administration is 13.96 square kilometres, of which over 10 km² are agricultural.
