Čupavci

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Čupavci is a Croatian cake. The cakes are small and covered with chocolate and desiccated coconut, from which the cake receives its name (Čupavci, derived from the Croatian čupavi meaning "furry", from the look of the coconut). The cake consists of a biscuit part which is made from flour, sugar, milk, eggs and oil or margarine. After it is baked, it is cut into squares and dipped in chocolate and coconut. Some versions of the recipe (especially from northern Croatia) add honey into the biscuits and rum into the chocolate mixture. Depending on the region of the country, some cover the entire biscuit with chocolate and coconut while others cover just the top.
