Ürkmez

Ürkmez is a small holiday resort in Turkey, located approximately 55 km from Izmir. The resort has a population of 5,000 during winter and about 25,000 during the summer. The old name of Ürkmez is Lebedos, one of the 12 cities of Ioania. Ürkmez has extensive thermal springs with a water temperature of 108 degrees Celsius.
Other than tourism, one of the most important means of living for the villagers is the production of satsumas and tangerines. Almost 60% of the town land is covered with tangerine gardens[citation needed].
