Ølgod

Ølgod is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Ribe County on the Jutland peninsula in southwest Denmark . The municipality covers an area of 247 km², and has a total population of 11,351 (2005). Its mayor is Erik Buhl Nielsen.

The main town and site of its municipal council is the town of Ølgod.

Neighboring municipalities are Grindsted to the east, Egvad to the north, Varde to the west, and Helle to the south.

By January 1, 2007 Ølgod municipality will cease to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It will be merged with existing Blaabjerg, Blåvandshuk, Helle, and Varde municipalities to form a new Varde municipality.
