Supelec is the real name of the school, not a short name !!! École Supérieure d'Électricité is the origin of the name not the real name ! the school is known throughtout the world thanks to this short name that is easy to remember. for no-french speaking people "École Supérieure d'Électricité" is hard to understand, isn't it ?
