In Quebec province, Canada, the term école secondaire is used to designate the institution where secondary education is given. The école secondaire provides general education for pupils aged between 12 and 17. The levels go form grade 1 to grade 5. A student must also complete an additional two years of education in a CÉGEP before being allowed to go to university.
