Álvaro Mesén Murillo (born December 24, 1972) is a Costa Rican footballer. He plays as a goalkeeper for Brujas F.C. in Costa Rica.
Mesen made his name with the club LD Alajuelense and has also become known for his campaigning, being appointed a FIFA ambassador in 2001 and supporting the 2002 FIFA World Cup Global March Against Child Labour campaign [1]. He has been named in the Costa Rican squad at two world cups, in 2002 and 2006. As of May 18, 2006 he has 37 international caps.
