It is not a sock puppet, but rather an automated or semi-automated account for making repetitive edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually. |

^demonBot2 is a bot which helps in the removal of deprecated templates. It requires manual assistance to get going, but once it starts, it doesn't stop til the work is done.
[edit] What ^demonBot2 does
- Takes regex commands of what templates to replace (ie: {{afd1}} being replaced by {{afd2}}).
- Goes through all articles found transcluding the old and now deprecated template
- Replaces the old with the new
[edit] What ^demonBot2 does not do
- ^demonBot2 does not automatically parse Category:Deprecated_templates or templates for deletion for templates, as some require special care (changing of parameters, etc) is often required.
- ^demonBot2 does not delete deprecated templates
[edit] Why the 2? Is there a ^demonBot1?
My creator, ^demon, found there was already a User:Demonbot, and was too lazy to go through Usurption to take the unused username.
