Zschopau

Zschopau, a town in the German Bundesland Saxony, on the left bank of the Zschopau River, 18 miles south-east from Chemnitz. It is part of the Mittlerer Erzgebirgskreis district. Its population is 11,584 (2005). Zschopau has a handsome parish church dedicated to St Martin, a town hall and a castle (Wildeck), whose construction started in the 12th century.

Zschopau is famous for its motorbike industry, specifically the MZ, MZ Motorrad- und Zweiradwerk GmbH marques.
