Zorba the Greek (musical)

Zorba is a musical adapted from the 1952 novel Zorba the Greek by Nikos Kazantzakis, upon which the 1964 Oscar-winning film starring Anthony Quinn was also based. It opened on Broadway on November 16th, 1968 with music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. It closed August 9th, 1969 after 305 performances. It was revived at The Broadway Theatre on October 16th, 1983 and closed September 2nd, 1984 after 362 performances.
