Zoffy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Zoffy (ゾフィー - Zofî) is a fictional alien superhero featured in the Ultra Series. He first appeared in the final episode of Ultraman (Episode 39, "Farewell, Ultraman"), thus becoming the very second Ultra-Being from the Land of Light in the Nebula M78 to appear on Earth after Ultraman himself.

[edit] Stats

Zoffy is 45 meters (148 feet) tall and weighs 4.5,000 tons. Age: 25,000 years. Flying Speed: Mach 10. Running Speed: 650 km/h. Jumping ability: 450 meters. He looks identical to Ultraman, except for some additional red lines and studs on his body. The studs are said to be medals of merit for distinguished service, suggesting that Zoffy has had a long and illustrious career. His twelve medals of honor are possibly for his saving of twelve planets. Zoffy had variations of the standard energy projection powers, including a variant of the specium beam known as the M87 Beam. Zoffy could use a more powerful version of that beam, the Mega M87 Beam, under certain conditions. (Although he is from Nebula M78, this weapon is called M87 Beam. It's power may be sourced from the Nebula M87). Zoffy also has the Ultra Slash, a weapon that is virtually identical to Ultraman's energy rings of the same name.

[edit] History

Zoffy is Ultraman's chief on the Land of Light. When Ultraman became desperate in his tough fight against Z-Ton, Zoffy came to Earth to rescue him. Ultraman referred to him as his "commander". The subsequent Ultra Series saw many adventures for Zoffy.

[edit] Movie

In his own "movie" released in 1984, Zoffy is a narrator to the audience. He starts by telling the viewer that monsters are awakening on earth and then sends Ultraman and his other brothers to deal with them. This leads to old footage from the old Ultraman series being shown. Every Ultraman from the original guy all the way to Ultraman 80 has at least one battle shown.

Conveniently they use old footage of when the other Ultras came down to assist each other in order to make the story believable. Some classic fights include Ultraman Vs Gomora, Ultraseven Vs King Joe, Jack Vs Knuckle seijin, Ace Vs Aribunta and the 6 Ultra Brothers Vs Temperar seijin.
