Zletovo

Zletovo (Macedonian: Злетово) - The well-known mining place of Zletovo is reached by a road that branches off the Štip-Kočani road, near the village of Krupište. From Zletovo, walking or riding, one can reach, within two hours, the village of Lesnovo and the monastery of St. Gabriel Lesnovski (900 m above sea level). The monastery church was built in 1341 by Despot Oliver, the local monastery interior is decorated with old frescoes and interesting folklore motifs such as the scene showing fishing, "kolo" (dance) with national instruments, etc. The iconostasis is carved by old masters who had made the iconostasis in the church of St. Spas in Skopje.
