Zimmerman is a city in Sherburne County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 2,851 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.4 km² (2.9 mi²). 7.2 km² (2.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it (2.80%) is water.

As of the census2 of 2000, there were 2,851 people, 963 households, and 722 families residing in the city. The population density was 396.0/km² (1,026.0/mi²). There were 1,018 housing units at an average density of 141.4/km² (366.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.61% White, 0.11% African American, 0.25% Native American, 0.28% Asian, 0.35% from other races, and 1.40% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.30% of the population.
There were 963 households out of which 49.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.5% were married couples living together, 13.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.0% were non-families. 17.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.96 and the average family size was 3.39.
In the city the population was spread out with 36.0% under the age of 18, 9.2% from 18 to 24, 37.0% from 25 to 44, 13.2% from 45 to 64, and 4.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 27 years. For every 100 females there were 99.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.7 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $49,332, and the median income for a family was $51,275. Males had a median income of $37,298 versus $24,918 for females. The per capita income for the city was $18,528. About 4.3% of families and 6.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 8.2% of those under age 18 and 17.3% of those age 65 or over.
