User talk:Ziggles Metropolitan

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello! I'm just getting started here, and am not really sure where to start. I've made a number of minor edits, but I'm ready to be a bit "bolder" and start contributing to the Wikiverse in general.

I've lots of questions, but am a bit unsure where to direct them. I suppose I'll just dive in and see if I hit the bottom of the pool.

[edit] Mach3

Hi Ziggles Metropolitan! I think your edit to Gillette Mach3 (you will notice that someone has moved the article to a new title as you suggested) was a good one. I don't think you overdid it at all, it is a welcome addition. Good work! --Commander Keane 07:37, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Workspace

You can create a temporary working space in your userspace. For example you could work at User:Ziggles Metropolitan/Sandbox or User:Ziggles Metropolitan/Test1 etc.--Commander Keane 04:08, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Citation help

Wikipedia:Cite_sources#When_there_is_a_factual_dispute is what you were looking for.

Insert {{Citation needed}} at the end of a sentence, or {{Citecheck}} at the start of an article or paragraph.

I found it by going to Wikipedia:Citation and following the link.--Commander Keane 01:17, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Actually that ought to be {{Citations missing}} instead of {{Citecheck}}. Citecheck is for misuse of citations, such as quotations taken out of context. Durova 04:14, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Linking

In terms of linking, Strategic materials seems fine to me - with key words linked. Wikipedia:Only make links that are relevant to the context has more guidance. The only concern about Strategic materials is that is doesn't have any sources and doesn't outline it's notability.--Commander Keane 04:15, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
