Zhong Yao

Zhong Yao (Chinese:鍾繇, sometimes translated to Zhong You, 151-230) was a certain minister of Wei. He was at one time entrusted to guard Changan, but ended up loseing by the fierce attack of Ma Chao. Following Cao Pi's death and Cao Rui takeing the throne, Yao was appointed as a Grand Teacher of Wei.

As a student of Cai Yong, a famous calligrapher, he also attributed to the development of Regular Script.

His son Zhong Hui was also a calligrapher and a general of the Wei Kingdom who conquered Shu Han with Deng Ai.
