Zhivko Zhelev
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Zhivko Zhelev (Bulgarian: Живко Желев) (born July 23, 1979) is a Bulgarian football player. He plays in the position of central defender or striker for Bulgarian side Litex Lovech. Zhelev joined Litex Lovech quite young but fought hard to get a place in the first team. He formed a formidable duet with ex-Bulgarian national defender Rosen Kirilov. However, due to a lack of strikers Zhelev was also used by managers to play as a striker for Litex and scored a lot of goal in this position. He is a very strong defender and has been often linked with moves to Bulgarian grands Levski Sofia and CSKA Sofia, as well as foreign clubs. However, Zhelev has been loyal to Litex and is currently still playing for the Lovech side.
