Zhang Ziping
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chang Tzu-p'ing, pinyin Zhang Ziping (1893-1947?) was a Chinese writer born in Mei-hsien in Kwangtung province.
Zhang received a classical education and, after studying in Japan, received a degree in geology in 1922. He however decided on a literary career, and with several others of his ilk, (Yu Dafu and Tian Han) he co-founded the Creation society which promoted vernacular and modern literature. He worked as an editor of their magazine and it was during this time that he published the first of his many novels.
During the Second Sino-Japanese War he worked for the Japanese, but after their defeat he was tried in China in 1947. Nothing after this date is known of him. (The Library of Congress's Name Authority File records his death year as 1959.)
