Zhang Guozheng

Zhang Guozheng (b. September 14, 1974 in Xian You, Fujiang Province, China) is a weightlifter. He began his current career of weightlifting when he started Nanping Sport School in March 1983. He then studied at the Beijing Sports University from 1988 to 1998. During college, Guozheng was in the Yunnan Provincial Team. By 1999, he was on the national team for China.

Zhang is a World chamipion, Olympic champion and World Record holder.

His impressive feats include a 197.5kg Clean and Jerk at 69kg BW (286% BW). He uses the unconventional squat-jerk style, where one carries the squat jerk into the hole prior to recovery.
