Talk:ZGMF-X12 Gundam Astray Out Frame
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I read somewhere that the name of the ZGMF-X12 was Punishment Gundam. Anyone know whether this is true or not?
It's Testament. L-Zwei 04:00, 21 July 2005 (UTC)
To be more clear, ZGMF-X12A Punishment Gundam was a unoffical (if well made) custom built model which, to my knowledge, was built with Duel and Providence model parts. It's not a offical unit, though. Also, currently we don't know if Out Frame or Testament is ZGMF-X12A, but things are leaning towards Testament. - DNAlpha
[edit] Sharanue?
Is it just me, or this seem to be just whole fan-made stuff? The image is clearly done by fan. (Not even as good as custom linearts seen on www.MAHQ.net) Fact that Greek alphabet code, which used by ZAFT's Silhouette, was used for this Orb's invention is also very weird.
Unless someone have proof for it's official existance, I think it's better to remove that.
- I'll take a look for the magazine again; I didn't keep a copy of the original article scan. I didn't think the image was very well done in the magazine itself, but there was a short accompanying manga that involved Kaite fighting in the Shiranue modified Out Frame against a ZAKU, which is why I chose to include it here.

- That "magazine scan" looks fake to me too. Out Frame is recolored to gold pretty sloppily (you can tell that the gold coloration on Out Frame in that pic doesn't match the Shiranui pack that's attached to it. Plus, it shows Out Frame in its original configuration. Out Frame was trashed in battle and rebuilt as Out Frame D long before Akatsuki and its Shiranui pack debuted. It was upgraded to Out Frame D shortly after the terrorists dropped Junius Seven on Earth, which took place in Phase 6 of the anime. The Akatsuki was locked up in a vault until Phase 40 , and the Shiranui pack didn't show up until Phase 49. There's just no way for this to be fit into the timeline. 68.47.234.131 04:43, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
- I'll try and scan the manga that's attached when I get back to my own computer. The text in the manga, and the other page of the Shiranui article I didn't get around to scanning, states it's in CE 72, which is quite possible timeline wise for testing the Shiranui space pack. And I have repeatedly myself questioned the colouring job in the magazine, but sure enough I hold it in my hands right now (I even double checked the CE date listed). --GundamFan666 22:00, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Theory
I have two questions:
- If it can use the "Shiranui" backpack, can it be theriorised that it can also use the "Oowashi" backpack.
- Also, if it can use the Striker Pack's, it should also be able to use AQM/E-X04 and AQM/E-X05, right?

- On the first point, I do believe it's possible. The article itself mentions that the Out Frame was modified to be able to use the Shiranui but received heavy damage during the use of it; it isn't stated whether the modifications to the hardpoints remained after the repairs or not, but the chasis was returned to standard colours. I can't quite make out the rest of it explaining why it was even changed to "Akatsuki" colours in the first place, but what I can make out is that Jess was temporarily hired by Orb and that they felt the Out Frame would be a good basis for testing the packs (presumably based on its ability to connect with Striker Packs).
- Yeah, it can theoretically use the X04 and X05. I think the only reason they haven't been added yet is because of a lack of proof of the utilization.

I was wondering if it occured to anyone that if the Out Frame was fitted with the Destiny Impulse pack, that it could basicly copy the entire Destiny suit (Minus the palm cannons) --Revan Vrake
