Zdolbuniv

Zdolbuniv (Ukrainian: Здолбунів) is a small city in the Rivne Oblast (province) of western Ukraine. It is the administrative center of the Zdolbunivsky Raion (district), and has an important railway station.
The current estimated population is around 24,600 (as of 2005).

The first mention of this town was in 1497, in a deed according to which a "K. Ostrozki" was given a several villages by a Lithuanian prince. Among the villages mentioned in the deed was Dolbunov. The town has had its present name of Zdolbuniv since 1629.
