An image published in numerous Southern African and European newspapers in July 1980, and subsequently reproduced on various websites. The image is of the gold medal winning Zimbabwean ladies field hockey team at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. Fair use claimed for the Whites in Zimbabwe article on the following rationale :

(1) The use of the image is to stimulate creativity for the enrichment of the general public. It is for a nonprofit, educational purpose. The image is of an iconic moment in the history of white Zimbabweans, has been used as a sports poster and it cannot be recreated.

(2) The image is of a factual and nonfictional nature and it has previously been widely published and circulated

(3) The image used is of a smaller size and lower resolution to the original.

(4) This present use of the image has no impact on the image's marketability or sales value. It is an obsolete newspaper photograph.
