The Zastava M85 is a Yugoslavian assault rifle. The design is copied from the Soviet AKS-74U. It was designed to hold a western 5.56 mm round, which would make it more attractive to foreign buyers. The number of M85s produced is not known due to the unstable situation in the Balkans during the 1990s.
