I have suddenly become a novice bird watcher - I do not know how this happened, or how long it will last, but there you go. Anyhow it is probably a good excuse to get some exercise.

So I don't know too much about birds, but I do have the Simpson & Day "Field Guide to the Birds of Australia" (guess where I live?), a digital camera and two legs that still work ok.

[edit] Ogg Vorbis is Silly Protest

The only sound file format now allowed on Wikipedia is Ogg Vorbis. As Ogg Vorbis is not natively supported by Internet Explorer or any other commonly used browser, it can not be played by casual users. To play Ogg Vorbis files you need to install extra software.

The sound files I contributed above are wave files and play on commonly used browsers. These were contributed before the Ogg Vorbis only policy was introduced.

Until Ogg Vorbis is supported by most browsers (if ever!), this policy is just silly. Commonly used sound formats such as wav or mp3 should be allowed.
