Zama Lake

Zama Lake is a large lake in the Municipal District of Mackenzie No. 23, in north-western Alberta, Canada
It is located approximately 100km west of High Level, at the confluence of Zama River and Hay River. The lake covers 55 km² and forms an intricated river, lakes and wetland system.
The name derives from Zamba, a Slave Indian Chief.
A small hamlet, Zama City stands on the eastern side of the lake[1] and the indian reserve Zama Lake of the Dene Tha' Nation is also located around the lake.
