Zakamensk

Zakamensk (Russian: Зака́менск) is a town in the Buryat Republic, Russia, located 420 km south-west of Ulan-Ude at 50°22′38″N, 103°16′25″E. Population: 12,709 (2002 Census).

Founded in 1893 as a mining settlement Gorodok. Town status since 1944. Renamed Zakamensk in 1959.
