Vengeance has played guitar since he was thirteen years old, and is self-taught. At one time played in a punk band called MPA*. He and M. Shadows (lead vocalist) formed Avenged Sevenfold when they were in high school.

Zacky says that there are "so many bands" that influence him. "I still love the heavy bands. I love... Danny Elfman and Elvis Costello. It's... all over the place - I think that's the best way to be."[1]

Zacky released a clothing line called "Zacky V. Presents..." on December 19, 2005.[2] The current design features the popular "Vengeance University" logo, which Zacky designed himself. The line currently features t-shirts and belt buckles, featuring his trademark "Est. 6661" tagline on it.

Zacky has been sponsored by Schecter Guitar Research since 2004, and has custom S-1 models out. Vengeance is of Italian and German descent.
