Yuthura Ban a fictional character from the Star Wars Expanded universe. She is the apprentice to Uthar Wynn, the head of the Sith academy on Korriban, as seen in the 2003 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Yuthura is a purple Twi'lek with numerous tattoos, some Sith, some from her past as a slave.

Originally from Sleheyron, Yuthura Ban was a slave to a Hutt called Omeesh. A cruel master, Omeesh tortured slaves regularly. One night, Yuthura slit Omeesh's throat when he had her alone in his bedchamber. She escaped on a freighter and was abandoned on a desolate asteroidal planetoid upon discovery.

The Force was strong with Yuthura, however, and she was soon discovered by a passing Jedi, who decided to train her and admitted her to the Academy, despite her being older than most Jedi padawans.

Her abilities were excellent, as was her potential, but she lacked peace due to her past. She had sworn revenge on all slavers and found the Jedi's lack of action intolerable. She fell to the dark side of the Force, believing she could use her power to assist the slaves. Upon Darth Revan's creation of a Sith Academy on Korriban, Ban enrolled, and eventually became Uthar's apprentice and second-in-command. However, the thirst for power, due to the dark side corruption of her mind, made her forget her original oath.

Yuthura is met during the game in a bar on Korriban called "The Drunk Side". She offered the mind-wiped Revan (his identity possibly unknown to himself, depending on how the game is played) a chance to enter the Sith academy to train, unknowing that Revan was in fact acting for the Jedi council.

Upon entry, Revan asked about her past, and despite some reluctance, Yuthura gave it to him. She was also essential to passing the "prestige" tests to gain the chance to be a Sith. This allowed Revan to enter the tomb of Naga Sadow, where an ancient Rakatan Star Map was hidden.

Also, she offered Revan a chance to betray Uthar with her assistance so that she could become Master of the academy, while Revan would become her apprentice.

If, in addition, the player character has befriended Yuthura in the Sith Academy before the final trial, she may be redeemed and turned back to the Light Side of the Force. By siding with Yuthura against Uthar in the tomb of Naga Sadow, then sparing her life and persuading her to rethink her ways, Yuthura will leave the Sith. If the player subsequently travels to Dantooine Yuthura will be found in the outer courtyard, until you collect the third Star Map then you can nolong travel to Dantooine, as the Sith gave it the same treatment as Taris.
