Yuri Arbachakov

Yuri Arbachakov (born October 22, 1966) was a boxing champion in the flyweight division.
[edit] Amateur career
Arbachakov was born in Kemerovo, Russia, and was an amateur boxing star in the Soviet Union. He won both world and European amateur championships during his amateur career, and lost only 21 of 186 amateur fights.
[edit] Professional boxing career
Arbachakov emigrated to Japan to start his boxing career in 1990 and took the name "Yuri Ebihara." He won the Japanese flyweight title in his seventh professional bout.
In 1992, he faced Muangchai Kittikasem for the World Boxing Council world flyweight championship. He knocked out Kittikasem in the eight round. He successfully defended his title nine times before losing it to Chatchai Sasakul in November, 1997. He retired after that loss.
His professional career record was 23 wins, 1 loss, and 16 knockouts. He was the first Russian professional boxing champion.
