Yowie (band)

Yowie is a math rock band from St. Louis, Missouri, founded in 2001. The band is made up of Jeremiah Wonsewitz on electric guitar, Jimbo on electric guitar and "The Defenestrator" on drums.

They play a complex style of unprocessed instrumental math rock, mixing arranged pieces with free improvisation. The music has been compared to other math rock bands such as Hella, Ahleuchatistas, Don Caballero and even the Japanese Zeuhl enroached Koenji Hyakkei.^{[citation needed]}

Yowie have been signed to Skin Graft Records since 2001, and spent three years writing and recording their debut album Cryptooology, released in 2004.

Yowie have recently confirmed on their MySpace page that they are getting a bass player and a new guitarist.
