Youth ministry

Youth ministry is the active practice and education of a particular religion or faith with young people, or youth. Youth ministry is, effectively, the way in which one religious faith or group ministers to and with their young people.

Christian Youth Ministry is usually geared toward bringing students together, telling them about Jesus Christ, and encouraging them to accept him as their personal Lord and Savior.

Youth ministry inside the Roman-Catholic Church is mainly demonstrated by the 2/3-yearly World Youth Days. Besides that, there are several ongoing programs for youth to discover, learn and enjoy their faith. Some are organised individually by parish or diocese. Main article: Youth ministry (Evangelical) Evangelical youth ministry is primarily geared toward persuading Students generally ranging from middle school aged to College aged,to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. It is the purpose of those in the youth ministry to educate, and mentor young people in an effort to support their own personal relationship with Christ. The ministry should encourage young people to become involved in church by allowing them to use their talents, and skills in participatory activities.

There are many organizations within the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations (the primary oranization of Unitarian Universalist Congregations in the United States), which minister to and with Youth, of which Young Religious Unitarian Universalists is the largest and most apparent. YRUU strongly emphasizes Youth empowerment, along with Youth-Adult partnership. There are also specific youth-oriented programs, such as Coming of Age, and Our Whole Lives, a lifespan Sexual education program with a youth age group.
