Young Jains of America

The Young Jains of America (YJA) is a youth organization that promotes the core teaching of Jain Dharma: Non-Violence, (also know as Ahinsa). YJA holds a convention for youth ages 14 to 30 every two years. The first convention was held in 1992 in Chicago, Illinois and the most recent one in Stamford, Connecticut. Jain Dharma also know as Jainism is the main theme in each convention and many speakers come from around the world come to educate youth about the importance of nonviolence, vegetarianism, animal cruelty, social service and compassion.
